Disclaimer

Tentzhen — its designs, build records, drawings, firmware, software, walkthroughs and this website — is provided by Via Balaena AS IS under the MIT or Apache-2.0 license, at your option, without warranty of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or safety.

Tentzhen instruments are not certified or calibrated test equipment. They are not approved by any regulatory or standards body and carry no safety, EMC or radio certification. Do not rely on their measurements where a certified or calibrated instrument is required, or where an error could hurt someone or damage something.

Every claim here says how it is known. A grade describes the evidence for one claim; it is not a warranty. unknown means not established. A spec, drawing or walkthrough can be wrong.

You build and use anything described here entirely at your own risk. You alone are responsible for choosing parts and checking that they are genuine and within specification; for the assembly, inspection, testing and operation of anything you build; and for complying with the codes, standards and regulations that apply where you are, including limits on radio emissions.

Electronics work carries real hazards. These include, without limitation: electric shock and burns; fire from overloaded wiring, shorted supplies, batteries or hot components (an electronic load turns electrical power into heat by design); lithium batteries; soldering heat, flux fumes and lead; and damage to equipment connected to a device. Tentzhen does not cover mains voltage. Nothing here tells you to open, modify or wire mains-powered equipment. Do not.

Firmware and software by others is linked, pinned to a release and a hash, and provided by its authors under their own licenses. Via Balaena does not warrant it. Flashing firmware can permanently disable a device.

Walkthroughs include instructions for AI agents. Letting any software, including an AI agent, control a supply, a load or other equipment is at your own risk; hardware limits reduce that risk and do not remove it.

Simulation results are approximations and must be checked against physical measurement before any real-world reliance.

Product and part names, including Raspberry Pi, RP2350, Red Pitaya and DPS5005, belong to their owners. Tentzhen is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by them; names are used only to identify parts and to compare. Figures quoted for other products come from their published documentation.
